Can we create regional pages on Facebook?
-
Hi,
Our business spans across many countries and in order to maintain brand consistency, we were contemplating to create regional fan pages on Facebook. The structure would be like parent-child relation i.e. one main page and other regional pages. Is it possible? We searched for it but could't find something concrete except that in 2012 Facebook was testing similar concept.

Actually you may think in building a Global page on Facebook. As you can read in the page I linked, with Global Pages:
Each brand's Global Pages structure will include local Pages for specific markets (single- or multi-country regions) and a default Page for all other markets. More details on this new framework:
- One global brand identity. Users from all countries will see the same Page name (translated into their local language), fan count, and People Talking About This (PTAT).
- One URL. Brands can promote a single URL in all off-Facebook campaigns, and users will be automatically directed to the best version of the Page for them.
- Global insights. Admins of the main Page will see insights for all global users in one easy-to-view dashboard.
The problem is that the requirement really are for strong global brands, as you can see in detail in this post.
Honestly, I looked a lot into the Facebook Business pages and I was not able to see an explicit link for creating a global page. So, I consider right what some experts say that you have to contact Facebook directly via email.
However, if your brand is global, but not with such a big budget so to afford a Global Brand Page, then the only solution is creating as many regional Brand pages as you need.
This is very easy. Just create a page normally, but then indicate in the creation process the region your Page targets for each regional pages.

Hi Shailendra
What you are referencing seems to be Global brands on Facebook. This was something that had quite a bit of chatter in 2012. This doesn't appear to be something that Facebook is focusing on at the moment, but there are things you can do.
What you're going to want to do:
-
Go to Create a Page in Facebook
-
Select the type of page you want to create
-
Select your category and name
-
Fill out your information
-
Under "4 Preferred Page Audience" you will be able to pick your audience based on...
-
Location
-
Age
-
Interests
-
etc.
Now, if you have multiple regions you work in, it may be in your best interest to create a couple pages with information specific to that region - products, contact information, location, staff, website (if that's the case), etc.
Might I suggest you also look into Advertising on Facebook as well. This gives you the ability to target specific people on Facebook through a paid medium, like demographics, behavior, connections, or of course, location! Read more here.
Hopefully this helps you - let me know if you have any more questions or comments! Good luck!

Thanks linklater! Can you please guide me how to implement it?
-
Yes, it is still possible. I see this features utilized by a number of brands in my vertical.
The redirect is automatic, based on location, and underneath the brand name and segment there's a link with the wording "Redirected from [main_page_name]".
The Like count is shared, and if a user mouses over the "redirected from..." link text they see a pop-up with the header of the primary page.
Definitely do-able, and I would say increasingly popular for major brands with a strong international presence.
Cheers!

Thanks for the reply Houses! Probably I framed the question incorrectly.
Please visit http://www.adweek.com/socialtimes/facebook-testing-globalregional-fan-pages-that-share-a-single-like-count/279822 page. It dates backs to 2012 but i want to know if something similar is still possible.

Hi,
It makes sense to have a Facebook page for every country you operate in because you can then talk in the right language to your fans and post content that would be of regional interest to them.
Hope that helps

Way to reset Facebook page Reach sending patterns
I have a client that posts a bunch of really poorly formatted and nonengaging content on her a Facebook business page. This has caused her reach to be very low, despite having 9000 real followers. Due to a history of poor content and therefore low engagement Facebook just does not send her stuff out anymore. Is there a way to change that? I heard you could reset that notion by staying off the page for a couple of weeks and then beginning to post once more with better stuff. Is that remotely true?

Why can't anyone check in on my Facebook Page?
Once upon a time, we were able to check in at our office on Facebook. Then, one day, we just...couldn't. I didn't (at least intentionally) change any settings on the page. I can't seem to even find a setting for this. What happened, and how do I fix it? Thank you so much in advance. (Edited to include the Facebook URL) https://www.facebook.com/LegacyTravel

Videos perform poorly on facebook...why?
I have a facebook page with 42,000 Real fans. Images, screenshots, links, questions, etc all perform well. But videos get 0 interaction. If I get 5 likes that is saying something. Why would facebook not send out my videos to people? Is there a way to increase them? It is very frustrating to post our youtube videos to get no response. My fans are most 13-30 yr old gamers, so videos should be right up their alley.

Where do the Facebook star ratings come from?
I have a client whose FB page has a 5 star rating (apparently from 5 reviews) but I have no clue from where they are aggregated? I tried Google-ing for answers with no luck! Any idea? Facebook Blocking Site
This is been a big annoyance for me. My site was on wordpress before and was infected with malware at one point. We were blocked by major AV, Google, and etc but we got the infection cleaned up quickly and got unblocked. Problem now is that Facebook, we are still blocked on. We try to post a link and says we are harmful. We got unblocked from facebook and we posted but than they blocked us again. We have submitted multiple requests on that form but got no answer. As a marketing agency, having our facebook page blocked to our site is bad. What can we do in this situation? We have no direct contact with anyone at facebook nor do they reply to our requests. I do own a .net to my domain, should we start using that instead of .com or what? We really need to find a way out of this. It is hurting our reputation.

Facebook Pages - Best to have one page or multiple pages when a company has multiple locations?
I'm working with a business that has multiple locations (13) in several different states. Is it best practice to have one central FB page for the company and/or separate location pages? It's for a self storage company that does not have one central phone number, so each location would have separate information listed on the page. They do have a central website with different pages for each location. I'd love to hear the communities thoughts on the best way to handle this.

Has anyone else noticed a dramatic drop in Facebook post impressions?
One of the clients I manage has over 5,000 Facebook fans. Whenever I'd make a post, it usually would get ~700-1,000 impressions. About two weeks ago I did my first promoted post. Ever since then, all the regular posts I've done have only gotten ~100 impressions . . . out of 5,325! I'm wondering if Facebook, once learning that you are willing to pay for promoted posts, secretly lowers your impression count so that you will pay for promoted posts more often, or if the timing of my promoted post was just a coincidence, and everyone started to see a decrease about two weeks ago. Does anyone know what's going on?
