Anyone tried out facebook like services from Fiverr?
-
Fiverr offers services like 1000 likes for $5!!! (and they seem to deliver) Sounds great but what is the catch? Has anyone tried out these type of services and more importantly what are the potential penalties?
-
There are a few Good Ways to go around Fiverr.
1. Dont Buy Likes, Buy Add Me Fast Points.
You can target countries (that's the only targeting you get) but you will have about 8000 points which you can spend on not only likes but Shares...
The person that likes the shares your post is only doing it to gain points himself, but his friends might be interested in your content.2. I found a russian selling 10,000 likes
These 10,000 likes I use to target a generic term such as "fizzy drinks" as long as i get more likes than the current "fizzy drinks" page all the new likes for that page are mine. And I can monetize by advertising further to the real fizzy dinks fans.3. YouTube Hits, I bought 30,000 YT hits.
All mobile views (some include likes, comments and subscriptions too) - These were the best!
Every time my video goes viral after the initial 30k a couple months down the line I'd get up to 120K and 10K real visitors. and real sales resulting from this.4. Organic Traffic. - Dont Buy Traffic, buy advertisement through social networks which generate trafic, there are a few out there that do that for you... anywhere from 50 per day to 8000per day. This got me a few sales, but not as much as the YouTube Likes
Additionally:
I ordered all the 10,000 baclikns, the 50billion edu and gov spun article placemnt, search engine submissions etc. for 1 site. SERP for main keyword 1st place!!! Page Rank 0
It looks like Blackhat killed my domain name, I dont see how I can make actually get a PR now as there is just so much junk on the net out there linking to my site that, the genuine links are ignored, although i get no warnings, and im blacklist free.So to summ up:
Get 10,000 fake likes and ruin your LEGITIMATE status (aka you become spam)
BUT
You will have about 1,000 real, semi-interested fans. -
We know of a few people that have done this Vinnie.
It certainly looks better when a site has 500+ likes than some of the sites we have just launched that have less than 10 likes. It's not just about people buying from a site with more likes, it's about people wanting to join your community. Why would the average person want to join a community with another 8 people? They probably won't see any benefit in that.
-
I don't think a lot of visitors are gonna look into that stuff as much as SEOs would. They might see the plugin on the homepage that has a like button, and see that it shows 500+ or whatever and say "hmm I guess they have some loyal customers". Granted some may check the actual facebook page (as opposed to the website likes) to see about coupons and specials.
Some people may be dubious. I don't know what my official stance would be on doing the likes or not, but I think the numbers would still be more of a benefit than a detriment.
-
Wouldn't you be a bit dubious of a page that has a fair few likes and next to no interaction though? I know I would.
-
Hi Bill,
I have the same experiences as you. I have tried it for a couple Fan pages to build critical mass. But these pages have had a harder time getting started than pages where I didn't do it.

I see only one real benefit to ordering 1000 facebook likes. They won't be targeted, and won't generate any leads.
What they can lead to is more people liking your facebook page, or making it look like you have more credibility. Would you be more inclined to buy from or like a site that has 12 facebook likes, or 1012? Google may crawl those likes and see they are rubbish, but the average consumer or visitor wouldn't. You may not get a boost in the rankings with fake social signals, but it could lead to more genuine social signals.
Cheers,
Vinnie

This is why the + me and i'll + you (unless relevant) statements gets on my tits.
People need to realise it's not about quantity. I wish G would properly penalise people for doing this type of thing. It's just the same as poor purchased and reciprocal linking.
-
In my opinion likes/followers etc work in much the same way as click seo, the key is delivering quality not quantity. A friend of mine tried this using a similar site (5squid) and although he got the likes he generated no business from them and the new followers started disappearing after time. So in summary, yes they deliver, but I don't think they work, after all losing followers/likes is worse than having fewer genuine followers in the first place... Isn't it?
-
I have tried it and it works. The problem many times is you'll get non-qualified prospects liking your page which will hurt your engagement numbers.
I guess if you are just starting out and you want to add a little clout to your FB page, you could consider it.
I'd rather have 110 engaged fans than thousands of non-engaged fans.
-
There's really, really no point in purchasing 1000 likes when you will get no engagement.
The catch is people selling a product to consumers who don't understand what they need to buy.
-
I tried out a '5 custom articles for $5' type thing just because I was a little bored one afternoon and wanted to see if they would actually deliver. To my surprise, they delivered the articles within a few hours and they were all unique (I checked copyscape). The articles were written in a strange manner, when loaded into a word doc every 5th or so word was underlined so that it appeared like it was incorrect spelling. A little dodgy.
I wouldn't actually use this service for anything useful. Key rule for anything on the net: if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Work on building meaningful relationships and that way you'll get FB likes in a natural way. And you'll be able to engage your fans and get some benefit out of the relationship, not just 1000 meaningless likes.

Facebook adds a trailing slash to urls?
Hey Guys, we are facing a problem in our www.batuta.com with Facebook shares. Seems like because we choose to set our preferred canonical version urls to end with a trailing slash ( / ), like this one e.g.: www.batuta.com/الوجهات/إسبانيا/ Facebook adds automatically another ( / ) when trying to read the url on first share before its ever indexed in FB. Which makes Facebook think its a bad request! cause then the URL has two // at the end of it. hope this was clear. anyway, so first question: did anybody face this issue before? any solutions? Second, and might be more important: I might be forced to face the option of changing the canonical tags to be a url without a ( / ) if I will have to do this I will enforce a redirect on every url request with an ending trailing slash ( / ) to be redirected to the new canonical version without. will this be enough? how big am I supposed to suffer here? am I facing a long time with double indexed urls? wonder if anybody faced this problem before! Best Regards

Way to reset Facebook page Reach sending patterns
I have a client that posts a bunch of really poorly formatted and nonengaging content on her a Facebook business page. This has caused her reach to be very low, despite having 9000 real followers. Due to a history of poor content and therefore low engagement Facebook just does not send her stuff out anymore. Is there a way to change that? I heard you could reset that notion by staying off the page for a couple of weeks and then beginning to post once more with better stuff. Is that remotely true?

What do you do when your Facebook page is Unpublished?
The page in question has been there for about 5 years and has about 80 followers. It is for a business that sells steel plate (B2B) and everything is totally compliant with Facebook T&C as far as I can tell. It's been unpublished with the statement "Your Page has been unpublished and it cannot be published again." We did an appeal about 6 weeks ago and heard absolutely nothing.... Generally we got no likes, no comments and reached about 20 people with each post. So I am lost as to why we were banned and lost as to what we do next It's fine if they want to unpublish - it's their site - what's frustrating is the arbitrariness, the lack of information as to why it was banned and lack of communication. It's fine if it's a spam site (except if you are a spammer) but I'm selling boring steel plates..... pwqkaz1xzkx7myx2ncwn

Why can't anyone check in on my Facebook Page?
Once upon a time, we were able to check in at our office on Facebook. Then, one day, we just...couldn't. I didn't (at least intentionally) change any settings on the page. I can't seem to even find a setting for this. What happened, and how do I fix it? Thank you so much in advance. (Edited to include the Facebook URL) https://www.facebook.com/LegacyTravel

Best option for Facebook Page/Usernames?
Hey guys My first post here! currently trialling seomoz and impressed so far 🙂 My question relates to a choice of Facebook page/username for a client whose preference is to refer to their online business name by the domain name, where this business name includes his two most important keywords. So as an example: firstsecondthird.co.uk Now in terms of seo that's fine as search engines factor in keywords in the domain name, and even referring to domain name in website copy does not seem to pose too many issues. However on Facebook I've noticed that if we go with page name of: FirstSecondThird (obsiously we can't add .co.uk - I've used camel case for readability) then when using the facebook search the page does NOT get listed for any of the keywords as it appears it only matches on whole strings. So I'm going to recommend that he changes Faceook page name to First Second Third (with spaces) even though client does not really like this option. Do you guys think that makes sense? Also if I do make that change should I also go with fixed Username of First-Second-Third i.e. with hyphens or stick with one long string i.e. FirstSecondThird, which matches the domain name? Any advice appreciated. PS hope this is under right topic- several others seemed applicable Thanks
