Value of RSS Feed for a website?

What sort of value does an RSS feed provide for a website?
If you use an RSS feed on your website, what do you use to keep it updated?
Can you recycle mention of content / pages in the feed over time?
Any good links on this subject?
-
Thanks. That was helpful.
So I can use Google's Feedburner and that's sufficient to get maximum exposure? Or do I also have to use others like Bloglines?
As previously mentioned, I was using "RSS Builder" some time back. Any recommendations for managing the actual feed given it's being used for a website?
Can I start a new feed based on the newer pages added over the last so many months?
-
The main benefit of RSS feeds is to keep users updated with your latest content should they not access your site directly.
From an SEO point, if you have activated the "pingback" feature, this will ensure that every site update will be notified to search engines & browser bots and specific blog/content submission sites. RSS feeds also provides additional internal links to a page hence providing more link juice and page authority. Make sure you don't have too many internal links on a page.
It is therefore important to be smart about RSS feed placement and making it compatible to access and read fpr all types of sites mentioned above.
This is why you'll notice people using Google's Feedburner, whereby you can have more control optimising the meta data per RSS feedback and automatically connecting social media accounts i.e. twitter or digg for automating content promotion.
Hope this helps,
Vahe

What is the SEO / Google value, if any, to providing an RSS feed to a website that's more static than not? Low value, high value?
If you use an RSS feed on your website, is there any sort of automated program to keep it updated? (I used to "RSS Builder" a few years ago but fell out of the habit of keeping it updated because I didn't think I was getting any benefit from the feed since pages are more static than not / not enough freshness.)
Can you / do you / should you recycle mention of content / pages in the feed over time?

The value of the RSS feed provide a way for your viewers and website to get the information you post without going to your site - it keep your name in front of your subscriber viewer to your content. RSS feeds instantly notified your subscribers. Keep them inform, Establish credibility and bring traffic

Creating a subdomain or subdirectory for each major city for our main website...
If our website is abc.com I am wanting to create a subdomain or subdirectory for each major city for SEO targeting purposes. But I want each domain to go to our see the same content from the main website abc.com. What's the best way to accomplish this? Duplicating our main page over and over sounds terrible , especially when trying to make changes down the road. Should we create an alias for each location? example.. abc.com/new-york, abc.com-chicago, etc...? If we go that route how does google acknowledge that? Would that mess up our SEO or help? Thanks!

Other websites copy content and giving a link back
Hi, I've just noticed a few back links in Google Search Console, I was excited. But when I saw the backlinks, 2 other websites that had completely copied my content and then gave a backlink to my website. Is this bad for SEO and would google penalise my website for this?

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
Hi,
Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
1000 of links on my website ? is it good or bad
Hi guys my site: www.dorchdanola-netbutik.dk is a e-commerce store, and generally we have many links on all pages because of the many products and categories. Im not sure if this is actually bad or good? I've been told that it will definately harm my site when google crawls it. The thing is that google visit my site often and I still have good pageranks in google. So does it actually harm my site having all these products and categories? And what can I do about it if google see every page as duplicate content? I also link to my social pages like FB, G+, e.g. Should I put rel="nofollow" or rel="me" on these social links? Thanks guys!

Do backlinks which contain parameters pass value
For some of our partners, we use our own tracking string in the url i.e. www.mysite.com/landingpage.html?partner=123456 . This has caused backlinks to be created to our site containing the partner string. I was wondering if these links would pass value to www.mysite.com/landingpage.html and the tracking parameters would be ignored or would Google treat www.mysite.com/landingpage.html?partner=123456 as its own page. If it did treat it as a seperate page, could you reclaim some of it using the canoncial tag?

EBay listing links SEO value?
Hi guys, Our website has an eBay widget which lots of eBay users put on their listings. We are thinking of using that as a way to get links from eBay listings. However, since most eBay listings will disappear after 90 days, is this worth doing and also will Google count those links? Many thanks David

How can I check a website to see if it is "nofollow"?
I'm a little new to SEO, so maybe this is obvious to some . . . I'm attempting to build backlinks by submitting articles, posting on forums etc. I just wrote my forst article for ezine and submitted it. I was feeling pretty good about myself until I mentioned it to someone trying to sell me their SEO services and he said that ezine articles are considered "nofollow" on all their links. Well, that was pretty frustrating to hear! It got me wondering, how many of these other sites have all their posts and blogs listed as "nofollow"? Is there a way for me to figure it out ahead of time? Obviously, there are only so many hours in the day and I would rather focus on posting on sites that will actually help me build backlinks! Thanks for your help in advance!
